Shanty Lamp by Paul Loebach for Areaware

One of Areaware’s latest releases, which we spotted at ICFF, is the Shanty Lamp by Paul Loebach. I love how the pieces of wood hold up the lamp like miniature 2x4s haphazardly and quickly nailed on temporarily to keep it from falling over.

You can definitely see the references to Shinto temples, campfire kindling, humble woodland cabins or childhood forts. But no matter what you feel the inspiration for the lamp actually is, you will agree that its warm, diffused light that peeks out from under the simple, wooden shade is perfect for reading or as an accent.
