Soft by Design: Urbanears Pampas Wireless Headphones

Stockholm-based audio lifestyle brand Urbanears has always done a fine job staying attuned to color trends, represented by a palette of minimalistic and affordable headphones and speakers catering to those who consider their tech an opportunity for fashionable expression. Until now, Urbanears headphones were limited to in or on ear designs. The new Pampas wireless headphone introduces a new option for those of us who like our headphones with an over-ear feel and sound.

Available in three colors – Almond Beige, Field Green, and Charcoal Black – the Pampas over-ear headphones follow a similar template to the brand’s line of simplistic forms partnered with matte color finishes that characterize their wireless speakers. USB-C charging offers 30+ hours of Bluetooth playback, with the addition of a novel “sharing is caring” option, allowing a second pair of headphones to plug in for listening together.

The collapsible design converts into a compact form factor.

A small knob adds a tactile control for skipping tracks, adjusting volume, and to answer calls wirelessly, a welcome addition in comparison to many headphone brands moving toward annoyingly fussy touch-swipe controls.

Plush and large ear cups comfortably isolate listeners to enjoy their music without the intrusion of surrounding ambient noise.

The Pampas over-ear headphones are available at for $149.
