“Stereotype” is a door designed by Kazutoyo Yamamoto of Dessence Co, Ltd. The door has just a doorknob with no lock. However, the door still has secure features, even though it doesn’t have a traditional lock. The idea is that stereotypes have driven design to associate “security” with a lock. The door has been designed so that the only way to forcibly enter is to destroy the door.

So wait, what exactly are the security measures? That isn’t actually explained. So you… take off the door handle? How does it work? I like the idea, but I’m not getting enough info to really enjoy this. Tsk tsk.

am i to assume that the security measure is the trick that the average person will not think to twist a handle that by design does not look like the kind that twists?

Yea I don’t really get it either. More information would be nice on some of these.

Those photos are useless. 7 photos and we still have no idea how it works.

You move the handle to the other side.
Then it will open

My husband would love to have that feature!
