Sum + Slash Objects – Small Biz Spotlight

As a small business ourselves, we like to shed as much light on smaller indie brands and companies as we can. To make that happen, we’ve launched the Small Biz Spotlight series where we highlight small brands we love in our shop and beyond.

Sum Introduces DROP and DOCK for a Minimally Beautiful Recharging Experience

After 18 years creating for tech giants, Los Angeles-based lifestyle company Sum has stepped out on their own. Developers of premium daily electronics with an emphasis on industrial and functional design, they recently released two new products – DROP and DOCK. The DROP offers easy and quick recharging wherever you need it. Just toss the light and sleek wireless charger into your bag when you’re on the go, then pull it out to stylishly recharge when the time comes – during dinner out or at the park. You’ll know your phone is charging by the calm, breathing LED ring that encircles the DROP. At the end of the day, place your DROP on the magnetic DOCK to recharge it for your next adventure. This innovative duo makes a great gift for the tech enthusiast in your life or that someone on your list who has everything!

Slash Objects Designs Using Recycled Materials

Slash Objects is on a mission to change what people think of products made from recycled materials. By transforming waste into beauty, their useful products are contributing to the circular economy. And by bringing together their interest in recycled materials with thoughtful design, Slash Objects is changing the way people experience those materials. Their first line features an industrial material made of post consumer rubber used to create tableware, organization, floor mats and office accessories. The R2 Deskmat and the Rubber Deskmat, seen above, are both standouts for your current office setup.
