Tack: A Mobile Light Meant for City Dwellers

Designer Matthew Lim was frustrated with the existing lights on the market. Specifically, he was looking for a multifunctional light that’s ideal for small spaces, with uniform diffused lighting and no awkward shadows. Thus, the Tack lighting system was born.

The diminutive but powerful lamp is 2-3x brighter than average task lights. Using taps to turn on or off, dim or bright, the light also works as a nightlight when turned off. It even remembers previously set brightness and will revert back to that when turned back on.

Task is also super easy to install. It uses standard 3M Command stickers to mount to the wall, making it easy to remove as well. It’s ideal for city dwellers and nomads who are constantly on the move. Its simple shape means endless possibilities when accenting or making a space.
