It can be easy enough to find outdoor furniture, once you set a budget and narrow down the style possibilities. But outdoor lighting can prove to be a bit more challenging – especially if you want to find something special. The heco outdoor lighting collection by Nendo for Flos makes a real statement with its thin frames and illuminated spheres configured as either side tables or floor lamps. Both pieces feature intentional bending of the metal structure, creating the illusion of the frame sinking under the weight of the illuminated sphere.
The heco table comes in both square and rectangular. Both shapes consist of two frames: one used for lighting and the other to secure the tabletop in place. A shared leg connects them together and acts as a hinge, allowing the user to adjust the angle between frames. That leg also conceals the electric cords that connect the light fixture with the battery hidden within the tabletop surface.
Meanwhile, the heco floor lamp gently bends and leans against the wall and the sphere of light. The design allows for the lamp to be used in two directions, either horizontally or vertically. The illusion of a gentle softness to the shape makes it feel organic and at home in the outdoors.
