I’m excited beyond words to introduce you to this month’s Scoop! I’ve been following Paul Lowe aka Sweet Paul online for a number of years, from his much-lauded blog to his quarterly magazine. From craft projects to recipes, his work is always visually stunning and completely inspiring (as are his Pinterest boards and Facebook page!). One of my favorite regular features is “Woof“, a column featuring dog-friendly recipes and quirky dog product picks. Of course, I had to find out more about the inspiring canine behind this column. So, without further ado, let’s meet Lestat!

Breed: French Bulldog
What?s ?The Scoop?? Lestat came into my life when I met my partner. He?s the perfect fit for us and he?s ?right-sized? for a Brooklyn apartment. I actually had another French Bulldog years ago, they?re my favorite breed… I?ve even got one tattooed on my arm… he?s riding a bicycle of course (?!).
Favorite Toy: He likes Nylabones and rope toys… and people… he LOVES to play with people the most.
Favorite Food: Like many Bulldogs, Lestat has a touchy stomach. We usually stick to dry food twice a day. He?s not a super food-motivated dog. He?s quite chill in general. For a treat I sometimes make him a dish from my arsenal of doggy recipes.
Favorite place to sleep? He sleeps with us at the foot of the bed and sometimes likes to snuggle in the mornings.
Pet Peeves? He doesn?t get bothered by anything. He?s great with kids and other dogs. He?s quiet… he?ll bark twice when someone knocks on the door but that?s about it.
Best Trick? His main talent would be that he?s quite photogenic. And he?s fine with modeling, i.e. he will wear whatever you put on him costume-wise and if you pose him he?s quite good at staying in position long enough to get a shot. I guess he?s the perfect compliment to a photo-stylist?!
Gear? He?s got EXPENSIVE taste. His collar and leash are Louis Vuitton… and he has been begging for an upgrade to Hermes. His everyday looks are usually Martha Stewart.
If your dog were another animal what animal would that be? I?m pretty sure he?s part Mogwai already.
I love the special “Woof” section in Sweet Paul Mag. What has been his favorite recipe so far? He LOVES salmon and rice… and liver… I bet he?d go nuts for foie gras!
