This majestic home located in Redberry Grove was recently completed by architect Ian McChesney. Completely clad in opaque black glass, the facade acts as a dark mirror, reflecting the environment that surrounds it.
Not only did McChesney design the house, he also designed all the hard-landscaping elements around it.
Named The Tree House, two large mature Turkey Oak trees flank the sides of the house, while flower beds line the walkway towards the entrance.
Floor-to-ceiling windows allow light to flood into the living room, while also blurring the line between interior and exterior.
A modern, wood burning stove is the focal point of the living room.
Pocket doors open the kitchen to the outside terrace, leading straight to the pond.
A zig-zag oak staircase connects the two levels of the house, with the glass skylights lighting the way.
All the bedrooms overlook the lush forestry of the house’s surroundings.
The Tree House is also on a government certified Conservation area, which is a protected green space, part of 345 green spaces across the UK, that are dubbed “permanent breathing spaces” and “places of tranquility” in urban areas.
