These Design Driven Brands Are Doing Pet Care Right

Here at Design Milk, we’re so obsessed with our pets, we even have a Slack channel dedicated to exchanging photos of their adorable antics. As pet-people who are passionate about design, we know the struggle of toggling between fashion and function when shopping for our pets all too well. Pet products that make our animals happy and look good doing it deserve to be celebrated, so we’re sharing 5 modern brands that are doing pet care right.

Wagwear

Wagwear is a dog lifestyle brand that’s been making effortlessly cool and timeless pet accessories since the late ‘90s when founder Amy Harlow set out to design the puppy chic pet wear her pups deserved. With an offering that spans from brightly colored dog beds and hardy canvas carriers to their best-selling, ultra-durable dog booties, WagWear goods embody a modern, classic aesthetic inspired by Cape Cod beaches and the brand’s New York heritage. The cherry on top? WagWear’s function-first style and high-quality materials ensure that every accessory can withstand the test of time (and your dog’s adventurous lifestyle!).

Our Pick: WagWellies

Our Pick: WagWellies

Wagwear’s “Wellington boots” for dogs, WagWellies keep paws dry and protected in snow, rain, and on city streets. These stylish rubber boots are designed with open-vented slits that allow you to slip them onto your dog’s paws with ease so you can get out the door in a flash. Design Milk readers and staff have been singing WagWellies’ praises for years too, our very own director of finance swears by them for her family’s poodle, Archie! “He leaps like a reindeer in them and gets so excited to put them on,” she says – talk about an endorsement. While it may take a few tries to get your pup used to their new boots, watching the process unfold will undoubtedly make for a delightfully amusing experience.
