London-based designer Andy Martin will show his new exciting furniture project at Meet My Project in Milan. This shelving system, called Undergraduate, is a reinvention and reimagining of a classic building bricks made of wood that are stacked to form shelves and nooks. Andy Martin took inspiration from the brick-built shelving used in student accommodations.
Martin’s shelving units are CNC carved from fast grown timbers and then coated in a lacquer, finally being fixed together using a rubber puck that allows for flexibility and slight wood movements. Like life-sized LEGO bricks, these modular pieces look like tons of building fun.
