UNIQKA Launches Hand-Stitched Leather Lamps

Amsterdam-based Jacob de Baan has created a series of hand-stitched lamps for leather-loving, Istanbul-based design brand, UNIQKA. The Dutch designer worked with two identical ellipses to form the shapes of the sun-inspired Zero Lamps, which are part of the Zero Collection.

The Zero Collection includes a floor lamp and a hanging lamp that come together when two elliptical pieces of vegetable-tanned leather are cross-connected and hand-stitched together. A circular hole is cut out for light to pass through while hiding the lamp source within the structure.

Along with the leather lamps above, de Baan also created the standing and hanging lights out of brass.
