Rekindled Pride, a Seattle-based Etsy shop, creates amazingly durable, one-of-a-kind dog collars from a very unique material: retired fire equipment!
Creator and owner Mandy Jacques explains what sets these collars apart from others on the market:
Because the material is salvaged from condemned clothing, each item is completely unique. The items are made from multiple pieces of protective gear, each with a story as unique as the firefighter who wore them. The ensembles have been worn through tough rookie academies and during suppression and rescue operations; they have also witnessed lives changed and lives saved. The turnouts originate from all over the West and carry with them a history of proud service to their communities. The collars display blemishes and imperfections that help tell the story of the garments’ uses.
Rekindled Pride collars are available in various color combos and sizes, with the option to choose a metal or plastic buckle. Check ’em out right here.
