Veer Pulls Double-Duty as Serving Bowl and Vase

Samir Dzabirov and Straight Design Studio have a successful history of working together, in fact this series – Veer – is the result of a previous product called Flipper. Whereas Flipper was a combination bowl and sculpture, Veer has been developed further into a series of sculptures that act as reversible serving bowls and vases.

The wider side of Veer is a serving bowl, and once turned over the opening to a case is revealed. The body of the object is light in color with a contrasting dark glaze that highlights its dual functionality. Veer is available in five sizes through Cooked Concept.

“We wanted to play with shapes and function. Create something in movement, without any visible beginning or end. Change direction to change function,” said Viktor Erlandsson from Straight, about the collaboration.
