I stopped dead in my tracks in front of the Nurseryworks booth at ICFF when I spotted this crib called Vetro. I had seen it online before but to see it in person was one of those moments where your heart stops for a split second. Glorious.
The Vetro crib was inspired by a love for acrylic furniture design. Made from non-toxic and recyclable lucite, the edges are curved and safe for baby. Now if only it removed fingerprints and smudges automatically…

I know it is nice to call Lucite non-toxic and recyclable, but it is pure fossil fuel, using two pounds of petroleum for every pound of plastic. It also scratches really easily.
Nice meeting you at ICFF!

Hey Lloyd – nice meeting you too. Yes, true about that. I suppose it depends on your priorities!

Wow! From an interior design view point this is really elegant and could fit into any nursery design beautifully. From a safety standpoint I cringe at the stubbed toes and little ones hitting the plastic and getting hurt. But really gorgeous design!

It looks like a prison!

I preface this by saying that I support new designs and pushing the envelope for anything furniture. But, I have to agree with the above comment. It does look like a prison. I can totally see a baby running hits hands/feet into the plastic as it he/she can see through it. It’s nice if the design was for a table or a bookcase. But, for baby furniture? Sorry. Fail.

There aren’t a whole lot of baby cribs that *don’t* look like prisons. I think this one looks less like a prison because you can’t really see the bars.

This crib is really unique! I went on the website to check it out and it’s actually been renamed to the VETRO Crib now. What do you guys think about the name? Fitting to the collection?
Either way nice find!

Hi Lara,
It was because you commented four times on the same post, which seemed to become a bit like spam.
