When it comes to furnishing a home, it can be hard to find the right pieces that fit ideally within the spatial dimensions of the home and the owner’s personal aesthetics. While Pinterest can serve as inspiration, translating that inspiration into a possible reality can be challenging because an idea doesn’t always fit a space…until now. In a new idea patented by contemporary furniture brand Viccarbe, Studio Lievore Altherr Molina has designed a modular sofa system called SISTEMA that takes every design element into consideration for user customization.
SISTEMA’s modular design allows it to be configured for different layouts and for different preferences. For example, back rests can vary in height if you have smaller or taller people in the household. Legs can be included if you desire a lower sitting level or a higher one. Other customizable features include: arm rests, foot rests, trays, side tables, poufs, fabric, wood, and finishes. Pre-configured designs are available to serve as a starting point for a design. In addition, more elements will be launched annually to continue this idea of flexibility and adaptation as personal tastes/trends shift over time.
