Watch The Knife Talk About Their New Album [VIDEO]

I know I’ve been posting a lot of video lately, and I hope you’re enjoying it! This particular video isn’t specifically about a designer, but instead about music. Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer of The Knife are back with a new album Shaking the Habitual, and they did a video interview with Marit Östberg (if you can call this an interview – it’s more like a short film/weird dream). Although this isn’t a music website, I loved what they had to say in the video about the process of creating and of reinvention. They discuss how they felt a need “to not reproduce identities that are expected of us” and why they let their masks come off for this album. For anyone who creates either for a living or as a hobby, I think this is a great video to watch.

Maybe you won’t feel the same after watching it as I did, but this video came at an important time in my life and struck a chord. And I’m glad that I could share it with you.

Also, if you like The Knife’s music, you can check out a great interview with them about the political topics they cover in the new album over on Pitchfork.

Hat tip to Selectism about the video.
