During BKLYN Designs last year, our eyes locked with Peg Woodworking’s pieces of furniture that incorporated woven details so we decided to take a closer look. Handmade in Brooklyn, New York by designer and woodworker, Kate Casey, each object uses local and non-toxic lumber, natural oil sealants, and all natural cotton cord.
Wooden or metal frames are treated to handwoven designs that incorporate complex geometric patterns to form the stool or chair’s seat. The results show a combination of a soft, tactile material with a hard, rigid frame. We’re looking forward to seeing these pieces in person at this year’s BKLYN Designs.
