Could you imagine living in a real glass house? Created as a concept to showcase Italian company Santambrogio’s glass furniture line, this set of two concept homes would be made from blue-ish glass. From the mind of architect Carlo Santambrogio and designer Enno Arosic, you could actually own one of these if you so desired… if you could stomach the $6200-per-square-foot pricetag and the monthly cleaning bill.

Stunning. I’m sure there is an underground level with storage and bathroom facilities. Would love to know more.

Um….this is kinda cool. Not sure I would like living in it but since I’m a huge fan of any and all things creative and custom, it’s awesome in my book. I think the stairs look the most intimidating.

Nice simulations. Not sure I’d want to have a complete habitat in glass though. A glass cabin adjacent to a more classic living area would be perfect: somewhere to watch the sun rise, or watch the stars at night. I think my lamps would look perfect inside too!

house aside, the furniture isn’t that great and almost looks “un-modern”
not that it has to be modern, but some of the pieces look kind of dated.

Man… talk about sme serious toe-stubbing!! :D
How amazing would this be for a week-long vacation stay?! Honeymoon, etc. Seclusion would be key, but still could be an amazing experience…

Funny how this “new” has been picked up again in August 2012 (not only by you: http://www.propgoluxury.com/EN/PropertyNews/Italy/464-Glass-Concept-Home-Santambrogiomilano.html), even if it was already around in 2009/10:

This slightly reminds me of the Apple Store in Shanghai; the almost-teal hue in the glass, and the beautifully designed staircase. But of course, I’m only referring to the store’s facade. :) The inside is, unfortunately, not all glass.

Those who live in glass houses should change clothes in the basement.

There is just something about Glass that makes it so stunning. I would be most comfortable in this environment. Of course, there may be drawbacks to weathering of the glass after a few years that would result in a less than stunning appearance.

Great to see but to live in this house, feel like an empty soul.
Wonderful arkitecture for Ultra Modern people :-) who love in touch with nature.

The logical extension of Johnson and Mies…love it..Though cleaning would be tiresome!
