A Playful Apartment in Taiwan for a Modern Family Lifestyle

A young married couple looking to find a balance between life as parents and their desire for an active social lifestyle chose to settle down in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in a high rise apartment overlooking the city. They hired HAO Design to create the interior to reflect their fun spirit, along with making it a colorful place for their two young children to play and grow up.

With preschool age children and a love for cooking, they requested an open kitchen so they could watch the children in the living room while prepping a meal. Sky blue cabinets are paired with a grey concrete ceiling and an island and backsplash clad in black mosaic tiles. Off the island is a wooden dining table with four different chairs.

The living room is furnished with an overstuffed sofa and chair, along with a coffee table at low height making it even more kid-friendly. The low furniture also keeps the views from being obstructed.

The massive windows were built with a window seat to help take in the view.

Adding to the playfulness is the LEGO collage hanging on the wall near the entrance.

The children’s room is decked out in fun colors, like blue, green, and yellow instead of the typical pink, along with a soothing grey to balance it out.
