Beautiful residence designed by Public.

A small one story bungalow sat on a substandard lot between two nondescript condominiums. Within that small house lived a growing family with a modern aesthetic who wanted to take advantage of the ocean views their site offered while adding square footage. The house has a concrete base that rises out of the ground with a minimal amount of openings until the second story, where it turns into a steel frame with a glass window wall that offers a panoramic view out to the Pacific Ocean.

good design less is more!, no ceiling! non painted walls which i love! overall good material the only concern is about insulation, because is san diego close to the beach!!

  3. This is a beautifully designed home. I really like the use of concrete and wood together, it looks great!

  4. This is very beautiful. I really do love it and the combination of concrete, steel, and wood always gets my heart pumping. But as usual, I’d like to see that it is actually livable. Like most photo shoots they leave out the reality. Where are all the books, toys, random gadgets, tools, keys, and odd tidbits most of have around our house? To me, modern means that I can live both relaxed and carefree, as well as neat with beautiful lines. If you have any examples of modern homes that look lived in, please post.
