The Bunkie Prefab Multi-Use Retreat

You guys, remember when Bunkie was just a dream? Well, a concept, at least. Architecture design firm BLDG Workshop and 608 Design have been hard at work making Bunkie a reality and they not only did, they created an updated, extend-o version of the Bunkie on Lake of Bays near the Muskoka region of Canada.

The all-new prefabricated Bunkie can be used for a variety of purposes, like an office, yoga studio, guest house, you name it. There are several different models available for purchase now, but this particular client wanted a retreat space to practice yoga and other activities.

Both ends are fully glazed keeping the interior filled with light while also providing views of the lake. With CNC routed parts, Bunkie is more like a piece of large-scale furniture or small-scale architecture.

The interior is pretty monochromatic with wood covering most surfaces.

A deck and entryway were also added onto the design.
