Burning Chairs by Hongtao Zhou
Hongtao Zhou is a Wisconsin-based sculptor who has created a set of burning chairs out of wax. Call it “Burniture.” According to the artist, over time the chair will burn, melt, and collapse. The chairs have an icy appearance, but generate heat and begin to weaken as the wicks burn.
You wouldn’t want to sit on them though, would you? I mean, to be honest?

I know my opinion isn’t really valued considering I’ve only just started on my journey as an artist but I guess I don’t see the vision…I mean what is he trying to SAY? It’s just that furniture has always been a utilitarian item. Form and function is always considered…and this really has no function…until there’s a power outage that is.
