This Extension Table by Vidame Creation is a pretty cool concept. It looks like an ordinary table, but it’s made of small slats of wood (or Corian) that open up and close through a mechanism that turns the individual pieces on their sides to expand the tabletop – like pushing over a row of dominoes.

nice concept – but you’d need to make sure it was really clean before closing it back up – imagine how annoying it would be with little bits of toast in the gaps…
