Iohanna Pani’s Form Follows Function contains this particularly lovely mug. I really like this; it reminds me of topographic maps or the sides of a canyon.

Cool to look at, but way too hard to clean!
Beautifal form but functional? No. This will be painful to clean. It will really look like a map when it has coffee and tea lines etched in the crevices.
It unfortunately reminds me of a stripmine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Udachnaya_pipe.JPG)
Have to agree with other comments – pain to clean.
