Go IKEA!
It has been one year since IKEA’s no more plastic bags program began, and IKEA is overwhelmed with the stunning results; more than 92% of their customers said no more plastic bags! Wow. I have been to IKEA about 12 times or so in the past year and I bought myself one of their nifty reusable bags for when I load up on trinkets.
In October 2008, IKEA will go completely plastic bagless!
This is wonderful. I don’t like near an IKEA, so I didn’t realize they were doing this, but I’m so glad they are. More stores should follow their example.
Whaaa-hoo! It always take one store to do it successfully for others to get the guts to do it! I have a re-usable bag but I usually forget to take it in the store with me. Fortunately, I’m one of those people who lugs around a large purse, so if it’s just a few things I can shove them in there.
