House S: A California-Inspired House at Lake Starnberg

Stephan Maria Lang, of Design Associates, designed House S as a California-inspired villa overlooking Lake Starnberg in Germany with a massive cantilevered roof that hovers over the outdoor spaces. Facing the morning sun, the house resides on a sloped lot with both mountain and water views.

A huge terrace is located just off the kitchen and living room with an elongated infinity pool just steps away. The levitating roof offers shade for outdoor relaxing, as well as reducing the amount of sun that enters through the floor-to-ceiling, sliding glass doors.
