Invisible Shoes by Andreia Chaves

Brazilian designer Andreia Chaves has released her first commercial studio series at this years’ Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Called Invisible Shoe, this concept shoe design explores the concept of invisibility and optical effects through the use of reflective surfaces that help protect the foot while producing a chameleon effect with their surroundings.

Each pair is handmade in Italy using a combination of leather making techniques together with advanced 3D printing technology.
The series will be available in three different models and launch in Asia in association with I.T. Hong Kong as well as the opening of the retailers’ new store in Beijing.

These shoes would sell like crazy around Japans Crazy Dressing Women. I think that the selling of them going straight to Asia is a really great idea.
I’m not sure why 3D printing is needed? I realise that it maybe needed on the computer for design reasons, but how do you print 3D shoes??? I assume they are made out of plastic…
Anyway, very cool.
