Vessel Gallery is proud to present a new spectacular lighting collection by studio Odd Matter called OverNight. Traditional copper plating techniques are modernized using stained glass panels in rich shades of ruby, amber and mother of pearl. The pieces are held together by copper strips that are immersed overnight in an electro-plating bath. The pieces “grow” and adhere in the wee hours of the night as more copper is formed, bonding all the edges together to make a tight-fitting frame.

The process also changes copper’s appearance from smooth and flat to a bubbly, effervescent surface. This is a pretty badass process.
