Petals by Gülnur Özdaglar
Can you believe that the round, clear pieces you see on this pendant lamp by Gülnur Özdaglar are actually made out of used soda bottles? If you look up close at these pieces, you’ll notice some petal-like structures inside that are formed using cutting, heat, and hand-drawing.
from a distance, i think it is very beautiful. up close, all i see are petri dishes with sperm swimming in various directions, excluding column 3, row 2, which looks like bacteria (out of context, i think it wouldn’t, but since it is surrounded by other petri-dishes…)
