Russian designer Vaslyaev Maxim has created the Pteleobius Lamp.
Pteleobius is a genus of beetles of bark beetle family. These beetles enter fallen trees and create unique patterns in which to lay their larvae. Using one of these “engraved” elm trees, Vaslyaev Maxim attached a chrome-plated pipe to emit the light onto the surface of the tree branch.

We used special auctorial technology and succeeded to make the patterns on the surface of wood embossed, more distinguishable by human eyes. It was not easy :)
