Public Urinal Design

I’m not sure how to categorize this public urinal…and I’m not clear on whether this would help or encourage the “problem” of public urination. Regardless, it’s definitely an innovative, thoughtful, and cool-looking design.

I don’t think they hope to stop the public urination in itself, but its effects. The smell and general grossness of having pee on the sidewalk.
i know there’s going to be A LOT of people out there who think this is a vulgar display, it’s disgusting, and it’s wrong to pee in public….but homeless people and drunk beligerent people do it all the time, and they do it wherever they want.
So I say CHEERS to this design. At least it gives the homeless people and the drunkards of the world a more “stylish” way of peeing in public. The bonus is you don’t have to walk by and see their naked “pecker” hanging out in the wind. It will be (slightly) covered by the aptly designed urinal….which can also double as street art when not being used.
i think the question is the awareness of people!
Not liking so much D :
I think it is very clever.
I think it’s a societal challenge that needs addressing. This concept, at the very least opens the discussion and it’s the first I recall seeing. I like it.
[...] Public Urinal [...]
Doesn’t do much for homeless women and children, though, does it?
looks cool…hope the height is adjustable!!! otherwise will have to see ppl semi-squatting or on their toes
it looks cool and i think (i think) it might work though. but would it mean the private part of the guy would touch the mouth of the urinal hole? is that hygienic?
I think it’s a great idea.
As long as they are put in problem areas where people are going to use the wall anyway. (Laneways etc)
As Karen said, controls the smell and hygiene issues.
Can’t say thats a bad thing.
