Developed for Brazilian lighting company Bertolucci, the Raízes (Roots) Collection by Nicole Tomazi are oversized knitted lamps made with nautical rope. Inspired by nature and how roots grow in the earth, Tomazi was drawn to knit the pieces as it’s the first craft technique that she learned from her grandmother, one of the most important people in her life. It was also one of the first textures she explored when she became a designer.
The collection merges traditional craftsmanship done by hand with the technology industry to result in textural lamps you want to reach out and feel. The lamps, which are made from brass and cotton cords, come in three sizes and in various color options you can chose from.
