Nervous System has officially released their Reaction cups and plates along with accompanying lamps. Inspired by the individual patterns created on the surfaces of animals like frogs and fish, the housewares line follows on the heels of their first line of lighting and trivets released earlier this year. These are lovely. The lamp reminds me very much of coral or of a big sea urchin shell with its organic lacy patterns.
I think the dish would be annoyingly hard to clean with the ridges on the food-eating surface, but the cup would be very pleasant to hold while drinking and having a conversation. . . I could probably spend an hour tracing all the ridges with my fingers.

Such a nice organic design. There’s something about these pieces that calm and fascinate me.

I can not stress enough how much I love designs inspired by anatomy. Awesome.
