Don’t be fooled — these photos aren’t from another era; they’re current. Robbie Augspurger is a photographer of the bizarre, creating characters that might have been photographed in some desolate town’s Sears Portrait Studio in the 1970s.
It all started when he purchased an old light kit. He recalled the days of working in a portrait studio and thought he would try to re-create some of that “awesomely good” portraiture, taking it to a new level. Some of his current projects include “Glamour & Headshots,” “Il mio Capo è il tuo Capo,” and “Mall Art.” He is also a founding member of the Portland, OR-based multimedia art collective Wolf Choir.

I (ahem) have that dress in the top one. It’s green, in the back of my wardrobe, and only applicable on holiday.
They are all brilliant, but the couple photo is my favorite. Why is he holding a knife? Very funny.

The first one is amazing! He made her look so beautiful without taking away anything! Great work!

Double exposure shots were around long before either of these guys. Also, at least Robbie’s are well done.
