A Sideboard with a Mashup of Geometric Shapes

When you think of crosshatching, you generally assume it’s referring to the drawing technique. The mesh-like pattern denotes tones and textures, which is exactly what it does on the front of the C# Sideboard from Romanian designer Ana Barbu.

The diamond-shaped panels in various color overlap to create different geometric shapes and patterns. Besides the visual effect, they help disguise what’s placed on the shelves behind them. Each panel can be removed and reattached anywhere on the rails.
