Storm in a Tea Cup

This Storm in a Tea Cup curiosity is a limited, hand crafted piece by John Lumbus. It is what is known as a timeless automata design, initially produced using second-hand bone china tea cups. Contemporary Dutch and English versions of it have been developed in collaboration with Laikingland and ceramics specialists, Royal Delft and The New English.

  1. Love these – twee, slick, fun, great. I’m gushing but I love them!

  2. pretty awesome! My grandma would love those, she collects dutch style decorations since that is our heritage.

  3. Whilst normally I have to say I’m not a big fan of more delicate bits of design like this (I’m more of an uneducated big bold colours and typography kind of girl), there’s something very soothing and relaxing about it. Beautiful.
