Studio Yra Vers Libre Candle Holders

What happens when a product designer meets a typography major and they develop their first collection? Typographic housewares, of course.

Studio Yra is designers product designer Lina Meier and graphic designer Sara Kerannen-Gramner and they are launching a new collection of candle holders called Vers Libre at Pulse in June.

The holders were inspired by Dadaism and woodcut fonts used around that time. As the letters are made in different fonts and sizes they can be used in different ways; standing, lying flat, upside down and with both candles as well as tea lights. Letters A-Z as well as the ampersand are available in birch plywood and can also be painted for a more personal touch. The pieces are cnc-routered in quality birch plywood and produced in the UK.
