I am so excited about this contest. We do many giveaways here on Design Milk but this might be the most fun one we’ve ever done…
We’ve partnered with Intel on an awesome series of posts this year all about designers’ workspaces and the tools that help make the innovative ideas become reality. But we know that our readers have amazing workspaces too and we want to see them.
That’s right, show us your workspace! Email pictures of your office, desk setup and/or workspace to [email protected]. We’ll collect all of your entries onto one big Pinterest board and the office that gets the most “likes” on Pinterest will be declared “The Ultimate Workspace.”
But besides the bragging rights to call your office the “Ultimate Workspace,” you will also receive a brand new Intel-inspired Lenovo IdeaPad U300e Ultrabook laptop (valued at $1500) and a featured Where I Work office tour + interview here on Design Milk! Holy cow?! I know, crazy awesome, right?

Let me just tell you: PC lovers – these Intel Ultrabooks are some of the nicest PCs I’ve ever had my hands on. Mac lovers – I don’t care how die hard about Apple you are… you gotta admit that this thing is stealth. With up to 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor, this 13.3″ Ultrabook starts at just 2.91 lbs with up to 750GB HDD storage, up to 32GB optional SSD storage, and Up to 4GB DDR3 memory — plus great battery life, Intel® Wireless Display (WiDi): wirelessly stream onto a big screen (requires a TV adapter), Intel® Advanced Cooling Technology so your lap isn’t on fire, and a sweet-looking aluminum shell.
How to Enter: Email pictures of your office, desk setup and/or workspace to [email protected] with subject line “The Ultimate Workspace Contest”. Please send only one photo. If you send more than one, we will choose what we believe to be the best photo to put up on Pinterest for voting.
Rules: By submitting your photos for entry, you agree that Design Milk and Intel can use these photos in the marketing and promotion of the Ultimate Workspace Contest. In addition, you agree to participate in an interview and have the office photographed for use by Design Milk and Intel. After all of the submissions are collected, we will place them on Pinterest in an album and Pinterest users can vote by liking their favorite workspaces. This contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada only.
Entries are accepted from 3/28/12 through 12 midnight ET on 4/11/12. Voting (“liking”) on Pinterest will begin on 4/16/12 (we’ll post a link to the board in another post and on Twitter and Facebook) and end at midnight ET on 4/20/12. The winner will be contacted on 4/23/12 and we’ll announce the winner on on 4/25/12 (in this post and on Twitter and Facebook). The prizes will be fulfilled on or before 5/31/12.
Congrats to Sarah, Entry #20 who has The Ultimate Workspace!

With support from our partner, Intel, we’re exploring the tools that unleash the creativity and productivity of today’s designers. Intel is committed to improving our lives with fast, light, wireless (and stylish!) technology. Their goal is to develop tools that help us create amazing things. And we think that’s amazing.

Jaime (post author) on 03.28.2012 at 15:46 PM

Oh man, our workspace needs some serious help (and new laptops) – wishing this was a workspace makeover contest instead! :)

Intel inspired? I think you meant to say Apple inspired. The contest is cool and I look forward to seeing some Ultimate Workspaces. But this design is shockingly similar to a MacBook. Finally PC users have an option that is not an overdesigned, oversized, black plastic monster.
Jaime (post author) on 03.29.2012 at 09:03 AM
Daniel, I appreciate your comments. I also understand how you might think the exterior design of the PC featured is similar to the MacBook (and both are Intel-powered). As you know, great designers often use each other as inspiration for their design. I use both Macs and PCs, and I am also very excited by the new options available for PC users! I hope you enjoy the Ultimate Workspace contest – I, too, am looking forward to seeing some really inspirational spaces.

I for one use a pc for a variety of reasons. Saying apple is the first company to employ a minimilistic design to their products is ridiculous. I think the box wins that.
Get off your high apple horse and just appreciate this Lenovo laptop.

Oh mannnnnnnn. It’s just about time for me to put my thinkpad out to pasture but I’m not ready to let go. Very tempted by this contest! I wouldn’t say I have the “ultimate” workspace but it’s pretty cute. NO ONE ELSE ENTER! Mine Mine Mine! :)
Jaime (post author) on 03.29.2012 at 19:07 PM
You should enter anyway – it’s up to voting to determine who has the coolest space. You just never know – it might be you! :)

how about doing a contest for the worst offices–the worst office will get an upgrade (new design)?
