Uncomfortable Conversations
By far the most interesting event I attended at ICFF was Designglut’s Uncomfortable Conversations. The idea was inspired by the following quote:
“A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.” – Timothy Ferriss
Designers Kegan Fisher and Liz Kinnmark of Designglut curated 16 pieces that were designed to start “uncomfortable but important conversations.”
Here are some of the pieces that were in the exhibit:

Pre-Handshake Handshake Device by Dominic Wilcox

Night Terror by Chrissy Conant

It’s Not You, It’s Me / It’s Not Me, It’s You by Ana Linares

Chi-Merica by Paul Loebach

In Case by Materious

Uncomfortable Typographic Situations by MSLK

Kevin Carpet Bench by Will Robison of Subports (yup, really a dude rolled up in a carpet.)

Heavy by Karl Zahn
You can see them all and read the descriptions on the Uncomfortable Conversations website.

Hahhaha I love the made in china mirrors! The handshake device and I think I need the dead body rug bench. Like for real.
The typography piece shows great examples of “keming”
Keming. (kem’-ing) n. The result of improper kerning.
