Veneer by Attico

Veneer is a series of vases by the Milan-based studio Attico in which the pieces are formed with layers of wood, carbon, glass fiber, and adhesive films. The layers are wrapped on steel spindles and then polymerized in an autoclave (i.e., a chemical reaction where several molecules combine to form larger molecules, all taking place in an instrument that sterilizes). The vases combine a blend of textures, colors, and materials that make each one unique.

The collection was exhibited in April at SaloneSatellite 2012.
