among many in the tech field and on tech blogs generally mock this design and see it as ridiculous and impractical. i think it could do with some straps.

You’re most right. It is completely impractical, but it is new, interesting, and beautiful – you can’t always marry form and function, but that doesn’t mean the piece or designer doesn’t deserve some merit.

I think it’s a good concept, but impractical in that it’s solid wood body makes it heavy.
