How exciting! Our first sponsored giveaway here on Design Milk! I am honored to announce that YLighting, one of my favorite lighting websites, is offering the Birzi Table Lamp by Carlo Forcolini and Giancarlo Fassina to one lucky Design Milk reader. Here are some photos of the lamp (it retails for over $100!):
To enter, all you have to do is comment on this blog post with your other favorite YLighting item (besides the Birzi of course).
Here are the general rules: One comment per person. The contest runs from Monday, March 17 through Friday, March 28, 2008. The winner will be announced in another post on Monday, March 31st.

I love this lamp because of it’s flexibility; the lamp was designed to be redesigned by the owner for a unique look. How exciting to be able to give one away!

I have been looking for a wall sconce for some time and I love the Elf1 Bath Light. I ordered a sconce a while back from another company and it was battery powered!! ops, so my search goes on.

Genie (Pink)– It’s pink and pink is my favorite color….very nice!
The Taccia Table Lamp! No doubt, that’s future fantastic.
I’ve been fascinated with the Moragas Table Lamp for the past few months. It’s classic and very simple. And I love the linen tape shade!
i dig the gemma snowball pendant. it sets itself a little bit more aside than the other pendants

The entire site is great but if I were to pick a piece, I would choose the Le Klint pendant because you can use this design just about anywhere because it is “Timeless”. It’s a staple design but very hip and retro at the same time. I’ve called this one out for my clients several times.
You can use it as one pendant that hangs alone over a desk, bar, small dining table. Or, you can duplicate it such as over nightstands, a kitchen island, three or more in a row over a larger dining table.
Picture this piece up against a darker wall. BAM!

I absolutely love the Havana Outdoor Pendant Lamp. It’s such a gorgeous twist on outdoor lighting. I’ve always enjoyed people who take the time to hang beautiful summer candle (or sometimes electric) lanterns outdoors in the summertime. These are just beautiful, and I can imagine that a light summer breeze would send the pendants gently swaying. Wonderful!

the atomium floor lamp is on my wish list. it’s so playful and quirky! i love how it can work in an ultra-modern setting just as easily as a retro-inspired space.
I like the Joseph Table Lamp (Rectangular)
I like the Ilde Max light. What a neat chandelier, but yet industrial too. I think it’d fit well in just about any room, from minimalist to classical. I bet when it’s on it looks like a bouquet. And I love that red wire.
That Birzi lamp is rad.
I would say my favorite lamp on Ylighting is hands down the Arco Floor Lamp. I want one pretty bad. I also think the Miconos Table Lamp is amazing.

titanic C 100 by global lighting. very smooth for a dining room or conference room. the images online do it no justice, but we’ve specified this one for a home renovation and it is fabulous. nice crisp rectangular form, but the copper detail and the linen soften up the large mass. a great warm fixture for simple spaces.

My favourite one’s definitely Ventana Lamp. The light’s perfect and it fits every style as there are a lot of ‘variation possibilities’. I simpley love it.
The Hudson Rocking Chair is a standout for me. The design is built for ease and comfort. This chair is “calling my name”.
In keeping with the rules, I would choose the Mezzachimera Table Lamp.
Who couldn’t use a gorgeous source of diffused lighting?
I love the Taccia Table Lamp, quite the price there though.
the Birzi is hard to beat, but there’s something about the Caboche ceiling light that kinda appeals to me also. it reminds me of a crystal bracelet…
ylighting has too much good stuff to note, but I especially like the desk lamps Tizio & Tolomeo. In other areas, the Artemide Castore Table Lamp is HOT.
I covet so many of their lamps but have come to love the Elf2 Bath Light for it’s pure white,Xenon bulb glow — a really love fixture with clean lines.
Tuesday Im in Love! whit this beutifull and so delicate lamp, and I´m talking about the Gemmy Pendant Light, Its so Blue, so soft. love it love it

I love Model 406 Pendant Light- I won’t lie it reminds me of a space ship
My favorite is the Slamp Tube - graceful and lovely and perfect for my bedroom. I also liked the Bourgie table lamp… and sooo many others! The Bizri table lamp is great fun, it looks like an invitation to play and reminds me a bit of “spoolies” - a type of curler I remember using when I was a young girl. Fun concept for a lamp!
Wow… I love the Esa Table Lamp, especially in aqua green. It’s quite beautiful.
The Caboche Ceiling Light is the one I kept going back to, so that is my favorite but boy, it is hard to choose just one, so many wonderful lights.
Deciding on just one favorite is difficult! I’d say my favorite thus far is the Twister Table Lamp in ORANGE! Mmmm!
for me, the Fortuny Centenario floor lamp is just amazing. ! It may be gorgeous in a industrial loft.

The large, red lacquered Jazz Table Lamp - clean, simple lines, bright, shiny color - I think it’s just striking and sexy and would stand out in any room - love it!

Being a product design student, I need a compact and sleek table lamp. Not that I can afford any of those on the site, sadly – still I love the Berenice lamps. They look gorgeous in black.

can i play the katrina card? because i’m going to. i’m in the middle of a renovation now, and while i covet the 5-light monorail kit (platinum finish), i couldn’t afford it even at the sale price so i went with something i found on clearance at lowe’s. you can save me from a house full of box store clearance items and put a little pizazz in my life!

Concept 1 #44 ceiling fan by YLighting is my other favorite. It’s modern AND affordable. The Birzi would be a fantastic win for me because it screams out my personality like nothing I’ve ever seen. What a great design!
These are such unique lamps, I really like several but the Ogus Design Table lamp really catches my eye
Birzi table lamp is so versatile. It can be a reading lamp or just a statement. Also something my cats can’t destroy. As far as favorites the Foxcarini Table lamp with the red shade is a sweet lamp also the I like the Sunday oak wood floor lamp. Both of these lamps plus the Birzi lamp would go nice in my home. Everytime I look at the Birzi lamp it makes me smile what a wonderful design.

My favorite lamp is the “BEDSIE GUN” by Philippe Starck, but yLIGHTING doesn’t carry it!!!
So, I would have to say that Archille Castiglione’s “SPLUGEN BRAU PENDANT LIGHT” is my top choice offered by yLIGHTING.
I use this light above my dining table, and it provides a very intimate atmosphere — perfect for a romantic dinner, or a night of poker!
