A Curvy Sofa Reminiscent of a Grand Piano

Simone is a curvy little number that wants to be the star in every room. Designed by interior design studio Sputnik for Spanish company Missana, this dreamy sofa is a unique approach to traditional seating every person has in their living room. Sputnik’s aim was to employ sensuous curves, much like those on a grand piano, and that’s how they arrived at the name, which comes from legendary singer and pianist Nina Simone.

From any angle, Simone exhibits generous curves, even on it’s back, and subtle details throughout. The backrest is raised above the seat to unveil the golden metal bars that hold it in place. Two different colors and textures of fabric are used further accentuating the distinctly separate components.

Underneath, wooden legs are secured with golden rods that cross over each other.
