We first wrote about Jesse Freidin’s photography back in 2010, after he published a series of portraits of dogs wearing various Lady Gaga outfits. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, do yourself a favor and check it out RIGHT NOW — then come back, of course.) Since that magical moment, Jesse has continued to up his fine art dog photography game, recently publishing a book entitled “The Dog Did It: Really Bad Stories About Very Good Dogs” as well as finishing up a three and a half month exhibition featuring contemporary hunters and their gun dogs at the National Sporting Library and Museum.
Jesse is a rare breed of photographer these days, shooting entirely on film and printing his black and white portraits in a darkroom. Which, if you ask me, is rather refreshing in an age where anyone with a digital camera — or even a smartphone — can call themselves a photographer.
Take a peek at more of Jesse’s work on his blog or online portfolio.
