Drew House is a weekend retreat meant to reflect the times the homeowners spent camping in their youth, so Simon Laws of Anthill Constructions broke the residence up into separate pods giving it somewhat of a luxury campsite feel.
Located near Gladstone, on the east Australian coast, the home is situated amongst native trees, allowing the family to enjoy the natural environment.
There are two sleeping pods, a bath house, and a long tube-like structure that houses the living room and kitchen. All were built off-site, as not to disturb the surrounding landscape.
The roof structure and decks were prefabricated but constructed once onsite, all of which connect the pods.
The triangular wooden panels open up in the living room helping to bring the outdoors in.
The homeowner happens to be a photographer and the shower door features her work.
I love how the wooden doors open right up letting you take a bath or shower while you enjoy the view.
