Duravit SensoWash Starck f Toilet Is Flush With Under the Lid Technologies

With a collaborative partnership spanning over ten years, luxe German bathroom fitting manufacturer Duravit and iconic designer Philippe Starck have worked together to liberate the toilet from a mundane necessity into that of something of a design object. Beginning in 2010 with the unveiling of the Starck-designed SensoWash shower-toilet seat, the two have produced numerous contemporary iterations together, culminating in the latest shower-toilet – the Duravit SensoWash Starck f – a sleek minimalist commode with a bevy of built-in bidet technologies hidden underneath its lid.

Joining Duravit’s existing Sensowash Starck, SensoWash Slim, and Sensowash i, the newly launched SensoWash Starck f takes on the appearance of a typical yet modern wall-mounted ceramic toilet (at least typical in Europe, where this sort of space-saving design is more commonly spotted). The real story is hidden away, an amalgamation of some of the most premium bathroom technologies hidden away until required.

With a flat seat and the white cover design topping the flush-fitting unit, users can access a menu of bidet features using a slim icon-labeled remote control or noting the common proclivity of phones in the bathroom, accessible using a Duravit Sensowash app.

There the Duravit SensoWash Starck f can be programmed for automatic open and close lid operation, auto flushing, several washlet/bidet hygienic spray features (Comfort-, Lady- and Rear-wash) toilet functions, temperature of the heated seat, odor filtration, adjustable water temperature, and air dryer temperature settings.

Like similar premium tier toilets, the SensoWash Starck f has been engineered to keep the inside of the bowl clean between uses with a rimless flushing technology using water flow for the purpose of porcelain upkeep. Additionally, they’ve baked on a specially engineered germicidal glaze (one with an on-the-nose name: HygieneGlaze) supposedly capable of killing 90% of bacteria after six hours, and 99.999% after 24 hours using an “oligodynamic reaction”, making the inside of the loo inhospitable to bacteria.

While features are accessible via a compatible Duravit SensoWash, we suspect most users will be satisfied with the slim and easy to use remote.

The Duravit SensoWash Starck f is available both as a wall-hung or in a one-piece lite or plus model with more information at duravit.us.
