Hi Thanks Bye Is About to Launch Their Debut: Collection 0

Stein Wang and Topher Kong joined forces to establish Hi Thanks Bye, a design studio based in Toronto, Canada, and the duo is set to launch their inaugural collection – Collection 0 – next month at the London Design Fair. The collaboration brings forth a combination of “cultural and academic experiences and references” that the designers fleshed out to create their own collection of modern furnishings. The debut inspiration comes from a merging of Canadian landscapes with a Chinese aesthetic that results in a cohesive, six-piece collection of functional and versatile pieces.

The designers looked to their homeland of Canada with all of its natural beauty, like Algonquin Park, the Bruce Peninsula, and Fogo Island, and wanted to showcase that in the collection. They also found inspiration in traditional Chinese gardens that are full of rocks, plants, water, and structures.

The monochromatic collection is made from powder-coated stainless steel (with certain pieces adding upholstery) and it includes a bookshelf/divider, bar stool, dining chair, side table, floor lamp, and rug seat.

The carpet was designed in collaboration with textile designer Avis Ho.
