iPad 2 Accessories from Grove

Portland-based company Grove has created two new products for the iPad 2: a case and a bamboo skin.

The iPad 2 case is a hardback case with a 100% bamboo back and a customizable leather smart cover and is now available for pre-order. The bamboo is hand-rubbed with natural oils and waxes in Grove’s Portland studio. The cover is made from American vegetable-tanned leather and has magnets that automatically wakes the iPad 2 when it is opened and puts it to sleep when closed. Inside is a soft Ultrasuede lining to help keep the screen clean and provide protection. The bamboo skin can also be engraved at the user’s request, selecting from an expansive and expanding collection of artist designs on Grove’s website. Or you can even upload your own artwork! (I did that for my iPhone case).

The bamboo skin is an engraved iPad skin made from 100% real bamboo that adheres to the back of the iPad providing protection and style. This option is for someone who simple wants to add a slim, sleek layer of protection on the outside of their iPad. The skin is also rubbed with natural oils and features cutouts for the camera and speakers. The skin even helps with grip. As with the case, artist designed and personal art can be engraved on the skin for a custom, personalized look. Designs above by Flavio Melchiorre.
