Zaha Hadid’s Kuki Chair Gets a Redesign

First produced in 2013, the Kuki chair by Zaha Hadid Design for Sawaya & Moroni was made of a single sheet of folded plastic. Teaming up with Hypetex, a new version of the chair was created with carbon fiber.

The updated version is a dynamic blend of design and cutting edge technology. It features an advanced composite material, and the sheet is creased along two lines, so that the edges almost meet at the back. The middle is bent to create a sculptural seat and backrest, characterized by simple curves and stunning folds.
