Luminaire Authentik Captures Floral Elegance With Pivoine

French for “peony,” the Pivoine Collection from Quebec-based lighting brand Luminaire Authentik does a stellar job of embodying the delicacy of the fragrant perennial, transforming it into sculptural lighting that feels both modern and timeless. From the first glance, Pivoine is an exercise in contrast – airy curves balanced by the grounded presence of powder-coated steel, petal-like silhouettes tempered by clean, contemporary lines. The design’s namesake flower translates into layered petals that encircle its lit core, filtering light in soft, concentric waves, creating a kind of memorable glow.

Offered as pendants, sconces, and flush mount fixtures, Pivoine brings a quiet elegance that suits both residential and commercial spaces. Installed solo, it offers a serene focal point; arranged in clusters, it creates the effect of a luminous bouquet. Customization lies at the heart of the Pivoine experience. Every element –from drop length and wiring to hardware and shade finishes – can be tailored to the space it will inhabit. With 57 available colors and the option to mix hues across individual “petals,” the possibilities are virtually endless. Matching hardware and canopy finishes allow for a completely coordinated look, while thoughtful details like glass color and lightbulb type ensure a refined, cohesive presentation.

The beauty of Pivoine extends beyond its form into its performance. Light radiates gently from a central orb, interacting with the surrounding layers to create a depth of illumination that shifts subtly throughout the day. In daylight, the fixture’s form reads as sculpture – a visual anchor that adds dimensionality to a room. By evening, it becomes atmospheric with a soft, enveloping glow. This interplay between light and shadow recalls the natural rhythm of petals opening and closing, reinforcing the organic inspiration behind the design.
